Since then several more have opened in the area but Francey’s business has continued to grow. Each partner is responsible for a certain segment of the business which allows them to devote and focus their full time and attention to marketing, operations, financial and human resources. The model seems to be working well! More information about the franchise follows but if you find yourself needing the services of a local mover with experience and a long history of A+ customer service, give Francey Beall a call at 972-479-1995.

The following was borrowed directly from the Two Men and A Truck official website:

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was officially founded in 1985 in Lansing, Mich., by Mary Ellen Sheets. Operations began prior to that year when Sheets’ sons, Jon and Brig Sorber, did local moving as a way to earn money while in high school. When they left for college, calls for service continued. In 1985, Sheets formally organized the company, hired movers, and developed a reproducible system. Franchising began in 1989. In 1994, Sheets’ daughter, Melanie Bergeron, assumed the position of president. Now, Melanie is the chair of the board. Brig Sorber is president and CEO. Jon Sorber serves as executive vice president.

Training is extensive and ongoing. It begins with an initial three-month period, including comprehensive classroom training at STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® (a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to moving in Lansing, Mich.) and thorough assistance during the franchise set-up and opening. There are also ongoing monthly training sessions at STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® for franchisees and employees. There are many other tools available to franchisees including detailed monthly reports, newsletters, Intranet, annual meetings, a resource library, a toll-free support line, a tradeshow booth, an in-house shop with a complete line of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® branded clothing and professional marketing materials and a system-wide purchasing system.

There are more than 200 locations operating worldwide. Locations are in 32 states, Canada and Ireland. There will soon be locations in the United Kingdom.
Owner Ann Rivers, a young mother at the time, began by making her signature cake rolls in an oven at her home. Unfortunately, the oven at the house was gas and did not work. Not to be discouraged, she went out and bought what at the time was a new-fangled convection oven. It was small and she had to cook the cakes one at a time. Mixing the ingredients by hand with a toddler “helping” was a challenge, but she managed to turn out enough cakes to fill the orders she had. It was the humble beginnings of what is now a thriving catering business serving corporate customers, weddings, special events of all kinds and even homemade lunches to go at her Great-to-Go Cafe.

Growing up in rural Mississippi, Ann was surrounded by good southern cooking and good southern cooks. She developed an appreciation for fresh ingredients, meticulous preparation, and unique combinations of flavors and textures. She brought her passion for good food to Dallas many years ago when she left home to begin her own life and career. Ann has drawn on her heritage and knowledge gained through a career full of experiences to create a business that offers customers a variety of food choices from simple sandwiches to gourmet meals served with an elegant flair. Her Great to Go Cafe offers homemade lunches to the local people around her location at just north of Walnut Hill near I-35. Says Ann: “We wanted to offer the local business people an alternative to fast food at a reasonable price. Great to Go was the idea we came up with to meet the need for fresh and healthy alternatives to what was available in the neighborhood”. Great to Go has grown steadily by word of mouth and now includes a recently added dining area where locals can get away from the office and enjoy a delicious lunch in a bistro atmosphere. There is even a daily hot lunch special that is made fresh and changes each day.

So what about the cake rolls? Well, Ann continues to bake the cake rolls in her modern commercial kitchen she moved to about thirteen years ago. The one toddler has turned in to three children, the youngest of which is almost ready for college. All the kids have helped mom in the business and share her appreciation for good food and great taste. The cake rolls are a seasonal item generally and are extremely popular around the holidays. They come in several flavors including pumpkin, zesty lemon, and raspberry. You can also sample one of Ann’s signature cookies or a pillow cookie (a chocolate chip cookie surrounding a moist brownie!) when that sweet tooth needs a fix.

Check out Great Endings and Great to Go today or come by and have lunch at Great to Go Cafe at 2433 Walnut Ridge Drive Dallas, TX 75229 . Ann can be reached by telephone at 972-484-5533. She will be glad to discuss any catering needs you have regardless of the type of function or your budget.
